Sally the Scourge (2023 Production)

Eleven year old Sarah receives a diary on her birthday from her great, great, great, great, great, great grandma who was allegedly a pirate, and the quest for the truth begins! Alternating between present day and the 1870’s this musical embarks on a journey of discovery as young Sarah learns of her namesake’s struggles to be independent and free herself from an arranged marriage. Sally recruits her friends and a crew of impoverished women of the town, stealing her proposed fiancé’s new ship, much to the chagrin of the mayor and men of the town. Solve the mystery of the female pirates and what happened to them in this Crystal Theatre musical written by Margaret Jackins with music and additional lyrics by Cheryl Kemeny. Directed by Margaret Jackins, veteran theater director of 18 years at Creative Summer at The Mead School. Musically directed by Laszlo Balazs and choreographed by Crystal Theatre alumnus and Dance Dimensions teacher Alice Jackins.
